Infinix has unveiled the latest addition to its lineup of gaming smartphones with the launch of the GT 20 Pro 8GB variant in Malaysia. Priced at RM1,149, this release reflects Infinix’s strategy to make premium gaming technology more accessible while maintaining the performance standards the brand is known for.
This new variant builds upon the foundation set by the GT 20 Pro 12GB edition, which debuted last year to strong market reception. While the memory configuration has been adjusted to 8GB, the smartphone retains its core features and can expand its RAM up to 16GB using extended RAM technology. This ensures smooth multitasking and robust gaming experiences, catering to the growing demands of budget-conscious yet performance-driven consumers.
The GT 20 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate 4nm 5G Processor, which is renowned for its efficiency and power in handling demanding gaming applications. Enhancing its gaming credentials is the Pixelworks X5 Turbo Gaming Display Chip. This combination supports Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation (MEMC) technology, and achieves game frame rates of up to 120 FPS. Such specifications make it a competitive option for gamers who prioritize fluidity and visual quality in titles such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Honor of Kings, and PUBG.
Thermal management has been a key focus for Infinix in this release. The GT 20 Pro employs a sophisticated cooling system, including a Vapor Chamber (VC) Liquid Cooling mechanism and a Phase Change Material (PCM) graphite sheet. These technologies work in tandem to prevent overheating during extended gaming sessions, ensuring consistent performance.
The device features a 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD+ display, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate for sharp, vivid visuals. This, coupled with dual JBL-calibrated speakers, offers an immersive audiovisual experience, enhancing both gaming and multimedia consumption.
The GT 20 Pro’s design also remains consistent with its predecessor, available in striking Mecha Blue, Mecha Orange, and Mecha Silver finishes. It comes with 256GB of storage, providing ample space for games, apps, and multimedia content.
The launch includes a promotional offer for Malaysian consumers: every purchase of the GT 20 Pro comes with a complimentary GT Pro Gaming Kit valued at RM89, available while stocks last. The smartphone will be sold through multiple channels, including popular e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, TikTok Shop, and Lazada, as well as offline through the Infinix Store at Plaza Low Yat and authorized dealers nationwide.
