ASUS Malaysia has announced the launch of the Vivobook S 14 (S5406SA), a sleek and lightweight laptop equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2). The new device, priced from RM4,799, is designed to cater to the needs of users seeking a balance between portability, performance, and productivity.
Weighing only 1.3kg and measuring 1.39cm in thickness, the Vivobook S 14 embodies modern minimalism with an all-metal chassis. Its slim profile and durable design make it an ideal choice for on-the-go professionals and students. The laptop offers up to 27 hours of battery life, ensuring uninterrupted usage throughout the day.
Powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, the device boasts up to 35 watts of thermal design power (TDP) and a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of 47 trillion operations per second (TOPS). The NPU supports AI-powered applications efficiently, enhancing tasks typically dependent on cloud computing while maintaining privacy and reducing latency. Users can also take advantage of ASUS’s Memory Allocation Management to optimize performance for gaming, content creation, and AI applications.
The Vivobook S 14 delivers vivid visuals through its 14-inch ASUS Lumina OLED display, which features a 1920×1200 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 and TÜV Rheinland for eye care, the screen offers lifelike colors and reduced blue light emission. With an 89% screen-to-body ratio and a peak brightness of 600 nits, the display is designed for immersive viewing experiences.
To enhance usability, the laptop is equipped with the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard, which features customizable RGB lighting and an enlarged touchpad. The device also includes a lay-flat 180° hinge, an IR camera with a physical shutter for privacy, and comprehensive connectivity options such as Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a MicroSD card reader. Additionally, the Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos audio system ensures high-quality sound for entertainment and video calls.
The Vivobook S 14 is part of ASUS’s commitment to sustainability, as it meets the MIL-STD 810H military-grade durability standard. The device will be available in two colors, Neutral Black and Mist Blue, providing users with refined style options. The product will hit the shelves in mid-January 2025, offered in configurations with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
