Samsung Malaysia Electronics has teamed up with Sunway Medical Centre to launch the “Time to Move” wellness programme, an initiative that aims to inspire Malaysians to take charge of their health through a 90-day challenge. The programme, designed and organised by Sunway Medical Centre, will integrate Samsung’s latest health innovations and wearable technology, specifically the Galaxy Watch7, to provide participants with personalised guidance and insights into their health.
This collaboration highlights Samsung’s commitment to positioning the Galaxy Watch7 as a vital tool for health management, underpinned by the robust features of Samsung Health. By working with one of Malaysia’s premier healthcare providers, Samsung reinforces the role of its wearable technology in supporting users on their wellness journey. The programme will allow participants to benefit from the expertise of healthcare professionals at Sunway Medical Centre while making use of the Galaxy Watch7’s advanced health tracking capabilities.
At the core of the programme is Samsung Health, an application designed to monitor key health metrics, including heart rate, body fat percentage, muscle mass, blood pressure, caloric intake, and sleep quality. These features allow participants to stay informed about their overall health in real-time. Each participant will be equipped with a Galaxy Watch7, which will serve as their health companion throughout the 90-day period. The smartwatch offers a personalised experience tailored to individual health goals, with its range of sensors and health-monitoring features helping users track progress and make data-driven decisions.
The integration of the Galaxy Watch7 into the Time to Move programme represents an end-to-end wellness solution, where participants can gather critical health data from their bodies at any time. This real-time access to personal health information encourages users to make informed adjustments to their daily habits, ultimately fostering a more proactive approach to health management. The data collected via the Galaxy Watch7 also allows for deeper insights into one’s health, promoting a more intuitive understanding of how lifestyle choices directly impact well-being.
Beyond its health tracking capabilities, the Galaxy Watch7 offers a seamless user experience for everyday tasks. It is equipped with features such as email functionality, music apps like YouTube Music and Spotify, and customisable settings, making it a versatile companion in both health and lifestyle. These features reflect Samsung’s dedication to providing a smartwatch that can integrate into a user’s day-to-day activities while also focusing on their overall health goals.
The Time to Move programme is also designed to be interactive and engaging, with participants invited to attend fitness talks and group workout sessions aimed at fostering a sense of community. By providing access to dynamic fitness experiences and health education, the programme ensures that participants are not only tracking their health metrics but also actively engaging with their wellness journey. The holistic approach is intended to inspire long-term health improvements, driven by both the support of the community and the advanced technology of the Galaxy Watch7.
Participants in the Time to Move programme will undergo comprehensive health assessments at the start and end of the 90-day period, including a basic blood test and an InBody analysis to evaluate metrics such as weight, muscle mass, and body fat. These assessments will offer participants valuable insights into their progress and help them stay motivated throughout the programme. The initiative culminates with a series of rewards for those who demonstrate the most significant health improvements, with prizes such as the Galaxy Z Flip6 and luxury getaways to destinations like the Banjaran Hotspring Hotel or the Lost World of Tambun.
Running from October 19, 2024, to January 18, 2025, the programme aims to demonstrate how wearable technology, like the Galaxy Watch7, can provide meaningful contributions to personal health. By offering participants both expert guidance and cutting-edge technology, Samsung and Sunway Medical Centre hope to empower individuals to take control of their health in a more informed, connected, and effective way.
