HONOR Android 15 Beta

Global technology brand HONOR has announced that Android 15 Beta 1 is now available for HONOR developers, starting from May 10, 2024. The HONOR Magic6 Pro and HONOR Magic V2 are the first devices to receive this update, offering early access to the latest Android features and improvements.

The Android 15 Beta 1 program allows HONOR developers to test new features and optimize app compatibility with HONOR flagship smartphones. The upcoming Android 15 promises enhanced security, optimized device resource management, and numerous user experience enhancements.

Android 15 introduces a range of features aimed at improving user privacy and security. A notable addition is the SDK sandbox, which runs services like advertising in a separate environment, preventing third-party apps from collecting user data. An enhanced Privacy Indicator and a new permissions management portal provide users with better control and awareness of their privacy settings, particularly when managing camera and microphone permissions.

Android 15 refines the Android Dynamic Performance Framework (ADPF), improving how power-intensive apps interact with the device’s power system. This enhancement benefits gaming apps and other power-hungry applications, allowing the device to manage GPU, CPU, and cooling system demands more effectively. Additionally, Android 15 introduces features for personalized user scenarios, such as allowing in-app cameras to control flash intensity for social media apps.

The HONOR Magic6 Pro and HONOR Magic V2 are the first devices to receive the Android 15 Beta 1 update. The Magic6 Pro is renowned for its advanced Falcon Camera, on-device MagicLM, and intent-based AI experience, representing the forefront of AI-driven smart devices. The Magic V2, a groundbreaking foldable phone, boasts a thickness of under 10mm, making it the world’s lightest and thinnest foldable phone at the time of its release. Both devices are guaranteed to receive four major MagicOS updates and five years of security updates, ensuring long-term support for global users.

HONOR said it continues to support developers in adapting and optimizing their applications for the Android operating system, aiming to provide the best user experience. With the release of Android 15 Beta 1, developers can enhance app compatibility and development for the next version of Android. HONOR will also support developers with future updates to the Android 15 Beta program.
