Ant Group, the operator of Alipay+, a suite of global cross-border digital payment and marketing solutions, has announced the exciting expansion of Alipay+ coverage to all 7-Eleven stores in Malaysia. This achievement has been made possible through a partnership with Razer Merchant Services, enabling users of leading Asian mobile wallets such as AlipayHK, GCash, Kakao Pay, and TrueMoney to seamlessly pay in 7-Eleven using their respective mobile wallets. This development not only enhances convenience for local customers but also provides a seamless and convenient digital payment solution for international tourists visiting Malaysia.

7-Eleven Malaysia, thrilled to enhance the traveler experience, has expanded Alipay+ coverage to all their stores, providing a seamless and convenient digital payment solution for visitors worldwide. With an extensive network of stores operating in various cities nationwide, including urban areas, tourist hotspots, transportation hubs, and residential neighborhoods, 7-Eleven Malaysia ensures wide coverage and presence for the convenience of travelers. Besides offering the usual convenience store products, they also provide travel essentials, making it a one-stop destination for travelers to find everything they need conveniently in one place.

Razer Merchant Services (RMS), the business-to-business solution of Razer Fintech, has played a crucial role as the acquiring partner in facilitating the integration of Alipay+ in over 2,400 7-Eleven stores in Malaysia. Through this collaboration, RMS aims to deepen the close relationship with 7-Eleven and empower the convenience store chain to tap into the vast opportunities of the digital economy. This partnership not only offers convenient payment options for locals and tourists but also enhances the overall experience and drives growth for 7-Eleven.

With the latest expansion to 7-Eleven, Alipay+ is now integrated into more than 80,000 merchant touchpoints in Malaysia. Popular travel destinations such as Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, and Penang boast a wide range of merchants across industries like retail, F&B, and hospitality, including both local and international brands. Well-known establishments such as Tealive, MyNEWS, Sephora, Watsons, Sports Direct, and Duty-Free stores now accept Alipay+, enabling Asian travelers to enjoy a more convenient digital travel experience.

The acceptance of Alipay+ in 7-Eleven aligns with Malaysia’s efforts to welcome more tourists. In the 2023 Budget, RM250 million was allocated to promote the tourism sector, with expectations of a surge in tourist arrivals in the second half of the year. Malaysia aims to attract 16.1 million tourists in 2023, a 60% increase from the previous year. The convenience provided by Alipay+ will undoubtedly contribute to a positive travel experience for Asian tourists, positioning Malaysia as a preferred travel destination.

The latest expansion of Alipay+ coverage to all 7-Eleven stores in Malaysia marks a significant milestone in enhancing the digital travel experience for both local customers and international tourists. With the convenience and widespread acceptance of Alipay+ in Malaysia’s popular destinations, the partnership between Ant Group, Razer Merchant Services, and 7-Eleven Malaysia is driving the growth of a positive digital ecosystem that benefits businesses, partners, and travelers alike.
