vivo surpasses its competitors in market share within Asia in the second quarter of 2020 falling just short behind Huawei but placing it ahead of Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi and other brands. According to the latest report by Counterpoint, vivo achieved 15% in market share in Asia, and comes up strong at second place in the smartphone segment.

This achievement was made possible due to vivo’s strategic development and investment in 5G technology. Upon the commercial launch of 5G in China in June 2019, vivo spearheaded the mass adoption of the new high-speed connectivity and capabilities through their 5G compatible flagship phones. vivo introduced a fleet of smartphones that appealed to different target groups without compromising on high-quality performance, user experience, and the latest 5G technology at an accessible price range. In the past year, vivo has launched nearly 20 5G smartphones.

vivo’s technological advancements in mobile photography, efficient charging, and HD screens are also attractive factors for users across Asia, it claims. The performance of its smartphones coupled with their elegant and eye-catching designs draw a younger and more expressive crowd who are knowledgeable as well as appreciative of the latest gadgets. vivo’s grasp in the Asian market share can be felt prominently in Malaysia as the brand overtakes Samsung as Malaysia’s leading smartphone vendor in the second quarter of 2020, commanding 21% of the market share. According to market analyst firm Canalys’ latest report, vivo Malaysia experienced a 59% year-on-year (YoY) growth in terms of shipments in Malaysia.

Closer to home, vivo recently launched V20 and V20 Pro in Malaysia, the latest addition to its “Be The Focus” V20 series. The V20 series offers innovative selfie capabilities that allow users to record and capture the perfect moments in their lives, especially with its brand-new technology – Eye Autofocus. Both V20 and V20 Pro are available in Malaysia priced at RM 1,499 and RM 1,899 respectively.
