TM to offer free 1GB LTE data for Unifi Mobile until 31 August

While the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is expected to end by 9 June 2020, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), through unifi as the nation’s enabler of connectivity and digital lifestyle, will be extending its exclusive #sTayhoMe offerings to its customers beyond the date so they can continue utilising digital and online tools in adapting to the new normal.

In ensuring that all its customers stay served, TM also wishes to inform that the operations of its unifi contact centre as well as other contact centres servicing multiple key enterprises and public sectors will resume its normal operation hours starting 8 June 2020 as follows:

From 10 June 2020 until 31 August 2020, all existing unifi Mobile, both postpaid and #BEBAS prepaid customers will be offered FREE 1GB LTE data per day to be utilised between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm daily. The daily FREE LTE quota will be utilised first over the existing subscribed quota.

Chief Commercial Officer of TM, Anand Vijayan, said, “We understand that everyone is progressively adapting to the new normal and they are looking for ways to stay connected and stay productive. With the free 1GB LTE data, our unifi Mobile subscribers can use it for online productivity tools, obtaining latest news updates, online learning and education or simply general browsing to get information that they are looking for. This offering addresses their concern for more data and we hope they can fully utilise it to their benefit.”

“As we remain committed to the health and safety of our customers, they can also access the StayAlert.my portal – a one-stop free, zero-rated access to authentic information resources developed by TM to help Malaysians stay up to date on the latest news and developments on COVID-19. The offering also includes free and zero-rated access to Covid-19-related mobile applications namely Gerak Malaysia, MySejahtera and MyTrace as well as to the Ministry of Health (MoH) website; with free unlimited calls to MoH’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC),” Anand added.

Meanwhile, the existing offerings by unifi during the Movement Control Order (MCO) will continue until 9 June, and will be in line with any further extension, should it be announced.

“Customers can now reach out to TM either via its Contact Centres or its multiple digital channels at the normal operating hours should they need any service related support; and our agents are ever ready to assist. As a national provider of essential services, we will continue to adapt our operations to ensure the safety of our employees within the guidelines and restrictions guided by the Government, whilst we remain committed to deliver smooth continuity of our services for Malaysians nationwide. We pray for the safety and health of all Malaysians nationwide while hoping that the situation will continue to improve, socially and economically, for the benefit of all,” he ended.

TM had earlier resumed unifi service installation and restoration activities; including those at customers’ premises in all areas, except for those in the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas. All TMpoint outlets nationwide have also reopened, in adherence to the necessary safety protocols as per the guidelines set by the MoH, National Security Council (NSC) and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
