Video-on-demand service, dimsum entertainment, part of the Star Media Group, has entered into an agreement with megatech company, Huawei, to offer the latest and best of Asian entertainment on its latest video application launcher, HUAWEI Video.

Through the partnership, HUAWEI Video hopes to introduce its video player app with content offered by dimsum entertainment on all its latest mobile devices, including the recently launched HUAWEI P40 Series.

In a statement by dimsum entertainment’s Chief Marketing Officer, Lam Swee Kim expressed her excitement on the partnership with Huawei.

“We are thrilled to be the one of the first video-on-demand service onboard HUAWEI Video for Malaysia and Singapore. Through HUAWEI Video, dimsum entertainment will be able to reach out to a larger mobile audience. The content offered will include dramas, movies, and anime from Thailand, China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore.”

“HUAWEI Video started providing video-on-demand streaming service from March this year in APAC, and is seeking more collaborations with reputable video content providers to enhance the mobile entertainment experience. We are confident that our partnership with dimsum entertainment will benefit Huawei users with more on-trend Asia video stories,” said the Director of Huawei Asia Pacific Consumer Cloud Service, Shane.

HUAWEI Video, comes pre-installed on all Huawei devices and offers an extensive library of video content for its users. In mid-May 2020, new dimsum entertainment subscribers via HUAWEI Video will get 1 month of free VIP subscriptions. Subsequently, they can then renew their subscription with a discounted rate of MYR6.00 or SGD3.00 for Malaysian subscribers and Singaporean subscribers respectively.

In addition to the new video offering, HUAWEI Video is bringing more fun to its users by launching the “HUAWEI Video – Watch & Win” lucky draw campaign. Starting from 27th May to 27th July 2020, HUAWEI Video users can stand a chance to win a prize everyday simply by watching any video content available in the app for at least one minute. The prizes of this campaign include HUAWEI P40 Pro, MatePad Pro, FreeBuds 3, dimsum entertainment quarterly pass, Touch n’ Go eWallet and Lazada cash vouchers and more.

Content titles curated by dimsum entertainment for HUAWEI Video include: An Incurable Case of Love, a new Japanese series full of laughter and romance; Love of Thousand Years aka The Killing of Three Thousand Crows and Ancient Detective, The Twin Flower Legend, three trending Chinese drama series; as well as highly anticipated series such as Bad Genius the Series, Fighting Youth, My Himalayan Embrace and Let’s Go Crazy on LIVE! which will make their way onto the platform later this year. This partnership follows an earlier announcement which saw Star Media Group and Dimsum Entertainment sign an MOU with HUAWEI Cloud earlier in the month to explore opportunities in cloud solutions, artificial intelligence and knowledge sharing.
