Nokia is working on a new affordable Android device, and according to a leak from Evan Blass, this could be none other than the Nokia 1.3.
The device is like to come with a 5.5-inch screen, and as we can see in the leaked press photo, it’s expected to feature a notch and what appear to be quite slim bezels.
This is a good approach for a device expected to just only $99, as it can help provide a more modern feeling despite the low-end features.
And speaking of low-end, the Nokia 1.3 will most likely come with a MediaTek processor, but according to the rumor mill, there’s also a chance the company goes for a Snapdragon processor. Working with Qualcomm, however, could increase the price of the device, so there’s a good chance Nokia just sticks with MediaTek to make the Nokia 1.3 as affordable as possible.
Other tech specs include 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, with a microSD card also likely to be offered for increased capacity.
Dedicated Google Assistant button
Of course, you really shouldn’t expect a top-notch camera, but it seems like the device will be equipped with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
As for the Android version powering the device, Nokia 1.3 could come with Android 10 Go Edition, which is specifically optimized for lower-end devices.
One of the special features of the new Nokia smartphone is the dedicated Google Assistant button, which will allow users to quickly launch the assistant, as you can already do on other Nokia phones and on Samsung phones equipped with the Bixby button.
The new Nokia phone will go on sale later this month, so expect an official press release with all the details in just a couple of weeks.
