Homegrown and leading lifestyle e-wallet Boost together with Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) have teamed up to protect Malaysians in light of the COVID-19 outbreak with free Prudential Life Insurance with Special Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 Coverage, exclusive to Boost users. This partnership marks Boost as the only e-wallet in the country to offer health related services and assistance during the coronavirus outbreak.

Between 24 February 2020 to 30 April 2020, verified premium Boost users who are not existing PAMB and Prudential BSN Takaful customers will be eligible to enrol for Group Term Life Insurance coverage worth RM5,000 for free if diagnosed at one of the 26 hospitals designated by the Ministry of Health. To enrol for the free Prudential Life Insurance with special COVID-19 coverage, verified premium users simply need to tap on the ‘COVID-19 Coverage’ tile in the Boost app to opt-in.

Since its launch in 2017, Boost has been pioneering many industry firsts including working with the Health Ministry of Malaysia to enable payments with Boost at ‘Klinik Kesihatans’ in the country.

The insurance coverage is applicable to those aged between 18 and 55 years old, limited to the first 200,000 successful enrolments and ONE (1) enrolment per user. Boost users will receive the status of the enrolment confirmation in-app within three (3) working days from the date of application.

As of end January 2020, Boost has 6.2 million users and 138,000 merchants nationwide. The homegrown e-wallet is also part of the e-Tunai Rakyat initiative and is the only e-wallet offering instant cash of up to RM8,888 to users who submit the e-Tunai Rakyat claim application with Boost. With a verified premium account, users can claim their free RM30 e-Tunai Rakyat incentive with Boost by 9 March 2020.
