Yoodo Official Digital Telco Mobile Legends Bang Bang Professional League Season5

The fifth season of Malaysia and Singapore’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL-MY/SG S5), sponsored by Malaysia’s leading digital telco Yoodo, is entering full swing with the commencement of the Regular Season on 29th February 2020. Going on for 6 weeks until 5th April 2020, this RM410,000 (US$100,000) prize pool tournament will see the 10 best teams from Malaysia and Singapore battle it out for glory in one of the region’s most popular mobile games – Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

Following the qualifying rounds for Malaysia and Singapore that concluded on 16th February 2020, Malaysia’s Makan Cendol and Orange Esports, alongside Singapore’s Notorious Villains, Resurgence, and Siren Esports are the teams who have earned a spot in the upcoming Regular Season.

They join the directly invited teams (Malaysia’s Geek Fam, Team Bosskurr, Todak and Axis Esports and Singapore’s EVOS SG) in a 6-week battle for points where the top eight teams will progress to the MPL-MY/SG S5 Playoffs. Half of the tournament’s prize pool of RM200,900 (US$49,000) will be up for grabs in the form of weekly incentives and win bonuses during the Regular Season, while the other half will be distributed in the Playoffs scheduled for 18th and 19th April 2020.

“Bangkit”

Moonton has also announced an all-new web series that will be launched on 5th March 2020 in conjunction with the Regular Season of MPL-MY/SG S5. Produced in collaboration with eGG Network, this 7-episode series will tell the story of a professional MLBB player and the highs and lows in the life of a professional esports athlete. It will also address the issue of toxicity in the gaming world, highlight the importance of family values, and showcase the importance of grit and determination in the pursuit of success.

“Building off the incredible response to our first web series Mata Kerbau which we launched during MPL-MY/SG Season 2 back in September 2018, we wanted to bring a new story to fans in Malaysia who inspire us every day with their passion for the game. Additionally, we wanted to shine the light on some issues and values in the gaming world today. We don’t want to spoil it so be sure to tune in and enjoy it for yourself,” said Jayden Wei, Esports Manager of Moonton.

The “Bangkit” web series will premiere on 5th March 2020 (Thursday) at 6pm on the MLBB Facebook page and YouTube channel with one episode launched every week for six weeks. The final episode will be screened during the Playoffs. Fans can also tune in to eGG Network’s channel (Astro CH800) to watch it on TV.

Commenting on the sponsorship of MPL-MY/SG S5, Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo said, “Since our first foray into gaming in 2018, Yoodo has continuously supported gamers by fortifying our position as the go-to telco for gamers. Today we are proud to level up this commitment by sponsoring the 5th season of the MPL.”

Yoodo is Malaysia first truly customisable and 100% digital mobile service offering users total control over the amount of data, voice and SMS in their plan.
