Touch ‘n Go eWallet has announced its partnership with WWF-Malaysia at the serene and monumental Taman Tugu. Through this year-long partnership, new users can register for their Touch ‘n Go eWallet and use the code, TNGUBBMX, to receive a complimentary RM8 softpin. With every Touch ‘n Go eWallet activation via this specific code, Touch ‘n Go eWallet will be donating RM4 to WWF-Malaysia. The RM4 will go directly towards supporting the conservation efforts of endangered wildlife and forests by WWF-Malaysia.
“This partnership enables us to showcase the versatility of the Touch ‘n Go eWallet. While we advocate for everyday transactions, we are also empowering Malaysians to contribute to and support causes that matter. We are marrying our technological expertise with the benevolent efforts of WWF-Malaysia in bringing the whole nation to campaign for our endangered wildlife, all with a single click on their smartphones. It is a monumental moment for us as we work together with WWF-Malaysia to conserve the environment,” said CEO of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd, Ignatius Ong.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet has been spearheading Malaysians’ everyday transactions like toll payments, retail transactions, bills and now even street parking. Part of its journey to make Malaysia a cashless nation, Touch ‘n Go eWallet has taken the opportunity to educate their users on WWF-Malaysia’s conservative efforts as these donation transactions go towards a significant cause.
These contributions will go towards the conservation of marine life, tigers, elephants, and protected areas. Our wildlife and forests have taken a back seat, and this has severely impacted our ecosystem. Touch ‘n Go eWallet is looking to empower Malaysians to nurture nature by providing an avenue where users can make a change and support WWF-Malaysia’s efforts to conserve mother nature.
Executive Director and CEO of WWF-Malaysia, Sophia Lim stated, “I am proud that this is the first NGO partnership between WWF-Malaysia and TNG Digital Sdn Bhd and I must say this has come at an opportune time. With the rising attention to climate change and other environmental catastrophes, we welcome more partnerships between corporations and NGOs like ourselves. Tech organisations, especially, can play a huge role in society, beyond the traditional corporate social responsibility programmes, making a tangible impact. It’s a two-way street. Corporations can provide access to people, funds and provide marketing data and research that nonprofits like us would not have the means to access otherwise. When it works, these partnerships can bring people together to solve global issues and, in this instance, WWF-Malaysia’s environmental conservation efforts.”
This partnership will mark a year-long standing programme with WWF-Malaysia to empower Malaysians to make a difference and stand forth for a cause that protects our ecosystem. Conservation should not just be the duty of those within the field but for all of us who have made an impact on our natural environment. This is why Touch ‘n Go eWallet is taking proactive steps to make a positive change, thanks to WWF-Malaysia’s collaborative efforts.
“While we encourage and make it easy to contribute to WWF-Malaysia, we also want Malaysians to be informed about current pressing issues that affect our wildlife and environment. In the next 12 months, we aim to educate and spark a behavioural change amongst people together with WWF-Malaysia. This is so that we are all more conscious about how we treat and conserve the environment and continue to donate in order to fuel the on-going environmental conservation work,” added Ignatius.
