Motorola Revives Its Iconic Razr Phone as a Foldable Android Flip Phone

Motorola is brining back the beloved Razr phone in a brand-new, modern design that will turn heads. The device features, for the first time ever, a 6.2-inch foldable display in a flip phone form.

It’s probably the last thing you would expect to see this year, but Motorola’s Razr phone is back and it’s cooler than ever with a foldable flip display and leading-edge technology that was never been seen in a flip phone.

The device’s flip form and the fact that it’s a foldable phone will make people turn their heads once again like it happened back in 1999 when everyone was crazy for the Nokia 8110 “banana” phone used in the original Matrix movie by Keanu Reeves.

Back to our times, Motorola’s all-new Razr smartphone packs a full-length 6.2-inch OLED display that closes completely in half and features a 21:9 CinemaVision aspect ratio, as well as a secondary touch-enabled “Quick View” display on the outside, which gives users the ability to see and interact with notifications without opening the device.

“The razr uses advanced flexible OLED screen technology and a groundbreaking hinge mechanism that allows the phone to close with both sides perfectly flush. This engineering breakthrough protects the display and creates an even thinner, more compact design,” said Motorola.

The Motorola Razr 2019 phone also packs a 16-megapixel camera with Night Vision, all-day battery life with TurboPower charging, Razr earbuds premium USB-C headset, and it’s powered by the Linux-based Android mobile operating system.

Price and availability

Motorola Razr isn’t for everyone at this time, as the company announced that it will be offered exclusively from Verizon in the United States. Customers interested in buying the 2019 Razr flip phone will be able to do so starting December 26, but only for pre-orders.

The phone will arrive in stores and will be available to order online from Verizon starting January 9, 2020. As far as the price goes, the Motorola Razr foldable flip phone will cost $1,499.99 USD or $62.49 a month for 24 months on Verizon Device Payment.
