Touch ‘n Go eWallet (“the eWallet”), will enable MULA customers to go cashless when they book rides with the ride-hailing app. The strategic partnership that was launched recently, is set to offer Malaysians an alternative easy and secure payment option for the ride hailing and last miles services.
“Cashless transactions are an inevitable future of the nation as we head towards a digitally powered economy. In line with that, Touch ‘n Go eWallet continues to diversify its efforts to cater to the ever-evolving needs of consumers and the industry. As a Malaysian company, it is vital that we support our local start-ups, entrepreneurs, and other home-grown companies, in a bid to build a stronger economy. We recognise that it is through partnerships with others that we will be able to drive the nation towards a cashless, modern Malaysia. Our expansion in the mobility category, through collaborations with locally owned ride-hailing players like MULA, will further accelerate this transformational journey,” said Ignatius Ong, Chief Executive Officer, TNG Digital Sdn Bhd.
“At MULA we are always looking for ways to upgrade the ride standards for our users and drivers whilst elevating the ride-hailing ecosystem through our existing attractive features. Through this collaboration with Touch ‘n Go eWallet as our eWallet partner, we believe our customers will continue to enjoy convenience at their finger-tips. Beyond the option of paying via cash, now with the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, MULA users can enjoy a hassle-free transaction option that is also safe and secure,” said Goh Kok Peow, Managing Director, MULA.
This partnership will enable inclusive employment opportunities for Malaysians across all walks of life. Over 10,000 MULA drivers, including women, will play a key role in catering to the growing transportation needs of the country.
Since its inception in 2016, the MULA app has expanded its offerings with multiple key features such as MULA Pink, SOS in-app button and MULA Pre-Book function which are all its top-user favourites. The functions of these features are as follow:
- MULA Pink:
MULA pioneered the in-app function called “MULA Pink”. With this feature, female
passengers have the option to choose female drivers. This unique feature aims to
ensure the safety of female passengers whilst creating more job opportunities for
women.
- SOS in-app button:
With the safety interest of the passengers and drivers in mind, this feature allows
both parties to get SOS backups in any emergency situation. MULA is working
together with a service provider specialising in SOS crime prevention that
operates nationwide.
- MULA’s Pre-Book Function:
Catering to its users’ evolving mobility needs, this function enables passengers to
book rides up to 30 days in advance. This is to ensure passengers are able to secure
rides, especially during high demand, peak or late hours when the number of
available drivers are much lesser.
To kickstart this partnership, Touch ‘n Go eWallet and MULA will be rewarding MULA users who pay using the Touch ‘n Go eWallet RM4.00* off for two(2) rides with the use of the promo code “TNGEWALLET” and an additional RM4.00* off for first time MULA users. In addition to that, MULA users will also receive RM3.00 off in vouchers for two(2) rides by default after they have completed with the registration.
More rewards for Touch ‘n Go eWallet users will be announced on our social media platforms from time to time. So stay tuned!
