Microsoft has just released a new version of the Outlook app for iOS that comes with support for dark modes in iOS 13.
As most iPhone owners certainly know given this was one of the most highly-anticipated features, iOS 13 comes with a dark theme, and software developers are now in a rush to update their apps to support this visual style too.
In other words, most apps are getting updated to respect iOS settings, so when the dark mode is enabled at system level, apps can switch to the same theme as well.
As one of the top app developers on Android and iOS, Microsoft just couldn’t wait for too long to do this, so today, the company is pushing a new Outlook version that includes a dark mode for iOS 13.
Hello, dark mode!
The new version of Microsoft Outlook with dark theme support is version 4.5.0 and is available right now from the App Store.
“Dark mode at sunset, light mode at sunrise. Our app now responds to the iOS 13 dark mode so your eyes can rest easy day or night. Change this in our app Settings under Preferences,” the changelog reads.
Keep in mind, however, that this new setting requires the dark mode to be enabled in iOS 13 in the first place. If you stick with the default light mode in the operating system, Microsoft Outlook uses the same setting as well, so unless you go full dark you can enjoy the dark mode in the email app.
Microsoft Outlook is one of the best, if not the best, email apps on mobile, and on iOS alone it has a rating of 4.7 starts out of a maximum of 5. Outlook for iPhone requires iOS 11 or later.
