Russia, after protests, tells Google not to advertise illegal events

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia’s state communications watchdog stated on Sunday it had requested Google (GOOGL.O) to cease promoting “illegal mass events” on its YouTube video platform.

Tens of 1000’s of Russians staged what observers known as the nation’s greatest political protest for eight years on Saturday, defying a crackdown to demand free elections to Moscow’s metropolis legislature.

The watchdog, Roscomnadzor, stated Russia would contemplate it interference in its sovereign affairs and a hostile affect ought to Google fails to reply to the request.
