Microsoft has released the first build of Microsoft Edge browser based on Chromium 77.

This time, the release brings quite a lot of improvements and new features for both Windows 10 and macOS, the only two platforms where Microsoft Edge Dev is currently available.

Microsoft Edge for older Windows (Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1) is only offered in the Canary channel.

With this update, Microsoft Edge Dev reaches build number 77.0.189.3 on Windows 10 and macOS.

The first notable change is a new page in the settings screen that lets you choose the New Tab Page layout. Additionally, there’s a new option in the Help and Feedback menu to report an unsafe website, as well as support for holding CTRL and space to select multiple tabs.

This new version also expands the dark theme to the Send Feedback dialog and updates the color of the windows they are inactive.

Under-the-hood fixes on Windows and Mac

Obviously, the update also includes plenty of fixes, and you can check out the full changelog in the box at the end of the article. One notable improvement concerns favorites, which are no longer deleted if the first-run experience is interrupted.
