The United States government banned Huawei from working with American firms, which means it can no longer use their software and hardware products, so the Chinese tech giant is now struggling to survive without any help from its long-time partners.
And while Huawei does expect a massive drop this year, Huawei Technologies cofounder Ren Zhengfei believes his company will be fully back in business by 2021.
So despite the collapse experienced this year, Huawei expects to recover by the end of 2021, at which point it should be able to aim for the stars once again.
Before the US sanctions, Huawei said it would overtake Samsung to become the world’s number one phone maker by 2020, but this plan has recently been reassessed due to the challenges the company has to deal with in the mobile market.
