Swedish home furnishing retailer IKEA has officially launched the IKEA online store, marking its full-force foray into eCommerce in Malaysia. The new service brings to Malaysians the single largest online shopping platform dedicated for home furnishings.
Effective today, the IKEA online store extends delivery throughout the country. Customers can easily browse and order IKEA home furnishing products anytime and from anywhere at their convenience.
Speaking at the launch, Gerard Jansen, Deputy Retail Director, IKEA Southeast Asia said, “Having rolled-out the IKEA online store at the broadest possible scale, we are able to reach more Malaysians. Moving with the time, it gives us the ability to meet their preference of shopping online while living up to our vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people of Malaysia.”
Prior to the official launch, IKEA Malaysia conducted a soft launch to carry out an end-to-end testing of the eCommerce system. Part of a customer-centric effort, the process has allowed IKEA to gather learnings, feedback and best practices that have been used as refinement in preparation for a seamless shopping experience throughout all touchpoints.
IKEA online store provides access to over 9,000 Swedish home furnishing products that are low price, well-designed, quality and functional. The site features categorisations based on products and rooms, making product search a breeze, in addition to a wealth of photos to spark home furnishing inspiration and ideas.
“IKEA online store extends a great way to introduce to more people the unique IKEA experience that we have come to know and love. It perfectly complements our physical stores, especially for customers who do not live near an IKEA store. They are now able to get inspired with our room sets, add products they love into their shopping carts, and even opt for additional services like assembly and installation,” added Gerard.
Customers can choose for their orders to be shipped via parcel delivery or truck delivery, which is useful when consolidating multiple large items. Shipping fees differ according to the delivery option and location. IKEA online store accepts all major debit and credit card payments via Visa or MasterCard.
