Kuala Lumpur, 28th March 2018 – An Indonesian online trading platform service provider and online content management group, BEONCo today announced a 100 per cent takeover of the operation team of Roopawan, a Malaysian Muslim fashion and beauty e-commerce platform. The acquisition was executed by Beon Commerce Sdn Bhd, BEONCo’s subsidiary starting early January 2018.

Roopawan was first introduced back in August 2016 during the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) in Putrajaya, though it was officially launched recently on May 2017; showcasing over 60 local and international brands via www.roopawan.com.

This appropriation signals an important strategic development for the existing operation of BEONCo in Indonesia, as well as developing a business operation here in Malaysia. The 100 per cent ownership purchase of Roopawan from Roopawan Marketing Sdn Bhd is seen as helping the company to shift from direct consumer sales focus to a higher revenue solution through the introduction of online traders –‘onlinepreneur’.

“BEONCo which has an experience of over 8 years in the arena of online trading in Indonesian market is seen to be capable of driving Roopawan further ahead. Beon Commerce Sdn Bhd also established BEON Academy in Malaysia that acts in channeling training and close guidance for these online traders.
