According to the results of security solutions testing conducted by SE Labs in Q2 2016, Kaspersky Lab products are the best solutions for small businesses, enterprises and home users. Kaspersky Small Office Security, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows and Kaspersky Internet Security all received the highest scores in testing, and were awarded with AAA certificates in all test categories.

SE Labs experts assessed the effectiveness of different solutions based on two parameters: their ability to protect users from recent malware attacks, and the absence of false positives where legitimate software is incorrectly blocked. Each product was exposed to equal threats, all of which were live on the Internet at the time of testing.

According to the results, Kaspersky Small Office Security, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows and Kaspersky Internet Security received 397 points out of a maximum of 400 All Kaspersky Lab products were the only solutions in their categories receiving the highest score in the ‘protection rating’ test.

The ‘legitimate software’ test rating indicates how accurately the products classify legitimate applications and URLs, while also taking into account the interactions that each product has with the user: the actions the solution takes or recommends to the user. False positives are one of the toughest problems around: a security solution may be very effective against various threats, but if it also hits legitimate software, its user’s experience decreases in quality.

Kaspersky Lab security solutions for small business, enterprise and consumers raised no false alarms in the ‘legitimate software’ ratings. They successfully identified all the legitimate programs and received the maximum possible 830 points.

As a result, Kaspersky Small Office Security, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows and Kaspersky Internet Security received 1227 points, as well as the highest ‘AAA’, leaping ahead of competitors.

“Millions of business users and consumers all over the world face around 310,000 new cyberthreats daily. Kaspersky Security Network statistic also shows a huge surge in ransomware attacks, with the total number of users encountering ransomware between April 2015 and March 2016 rising by 17.7% compared to the previous 12 months. The increased volume of cryptomalware is also putting user data in more danger than before.  The proper analysis of security solution capabilities is essential – if we are to protect users against this class of malware as nothing can be missed. Addressing this challenge, the lab included a large amount of ransoms in the test set to test solution capabilities. We are proud that all of Kaspersky Lab’s security products have been proven as the best multi-layered protection,” commented Timur Biyachuev, Director Anti-Malware Research at Kaspersky Lab.
