Akamai Technologies, Inc., a global content delivery network (CDN) service, announced the company is collaborating with Google Cloud Platform as part of the Google Interconnect Program.
Akamai said its participation is designed to reduce hosting and egress costs and improve performance for Akamai customers taking advantage of Google Cloud Platform.
Akamai’s participation as a Google Cloud Platform CDN Interconnect Provider is intended to ensure that the Google Cloud Platform serves all in region traffic destined for the Akamai Intelligent Platform via Akamai regions. Customers are expected to benefit from performance improvements as well as egress cost savings of up to 66 percent based on the pricing structure of Google Cloud Platform.
