Hitachi Sunway opens 3rd data centre in Malaysia

Hitachi Sunway Information Systems Sdn. Bhd. unveiled its latest 5,000 sq. ft data centre facility located at The Pinnacle Sunway, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya (Malaysia).

The company said the opening of this 3rd data centre is part of its plan to become a major data centre player in the South East Asia region. The new data centre has been operational since February 2015. Hitachi Sunway has two other ISO-certified Tier III compliant data centers within in Malaysia located at Cyberjaya and Kuala Lumpur, covering a total floor space of 18,500 sq. ft.

Currently, more than half of the total Pinnacle Sunway data center capacity has already been reserved or booked by clients. The company is confident the data centre’s full capacity will be fulfilled within 2016.

At the same time, Hitachi Sunway also announced Recovery-as-a-Service (RaaS) solution as Malaysia’s first subscription-based managed services with near-zero downtime under its data centre business. The provision of Hitachi Sunway’ RaaS is in partnership with Vision Solutions, a provider of disaster recovery, high availability and migration software and services.

Established in 2013, Hitachi Sunway is a joint venture between Hitachi Systems, Ltd. and Sunway Technology Sdn Bhd. Headquartered in Malaysia, Hitachi Sunway is an MSC Status Company with regional offices in 14 locations across Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.
