Charities Profiles

National Kidney Foundation
Registered in the year 1969, National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF) strives to raise the standards of care we provide to patients with kidney failure and those who are suffering from various kidney-related diseases.

NKF’s patients are generally from the lower income group and these patients often could not afford dialysis treatments at private medical facilities which usually charge RM150 to RM250 for each dialysis sessions. NKF helps by subsidizing the cost of the patients’ dialysis treatments, so that they are only required to pay a RM50 nominal fee per dialysis session. Hence, every year, NKF needs to raise RM12 million to subsidize the dialysis treatments cost for 1509 patients who seek treatment at the 28 dialysis centres nationwide (as at September 2014).

Pusat Jagaan Sri Sai
Pusat Jagaan Sri Sai located in Klang is a special home takes care of various unfortunates such as OKUs, orphanage, veterans and patients from different races. They will utilize the funds to purchase necessities for the home.

Yayasan Orang Kurang Upaya Kelantan (YOKUK)
Yayasan Orang Kurang Upaya Kelantan (YOKUK) or Kelantan Foundation for the Disabled is a charitable foundation established to alleviate the plight of people with disabilities and to give them a meaningful life. First started in July 1999, at the Rumah Seri Kenangan, Pengkalan Chepa, Kelantan, YOKUK now provide services to approximately 3,300 registered clients free of charge.

The funds raised will be used to finance caretakers who visit clients from poor families or live in impoverished rural areas hence can’t afford to come to the YOKUK centre for therapy and care.

“As an industry association, we are empathized with the challenges faced by the non-profit organizations as well as charity homes. PIKOM leveraged on our strength to gather the industry players annually for this fund raising drive. We are especially thankful to our sponsors and golfers for making this charity deed a success,” said Cheah Kok Hoong, Chairman of PIKOM.
