Hitachi Sunway Information Systems Sdn. Bhd., an IT services and solutions provider in Southeast Asia, announced that the company has acquired 100% stake of I-Net Solutions (S) Pte. Ltd as its latest corporate investment for regional expansion.

This deal is the third in a series of acquisitions within the last 12 months by the Japanese-Malaysian Joint Venture (JV) that was formed in April 2013. The key intention of this I-Net acquisition is to bolster up Hitachi Sunway’s Infrastructure and Managed Services (IMS) business which previously has benefited from the acquisitions of Free Net Business Solutions Sdn Bhd (100%) and Powerware Systems Sdn Bhd (30%) in July 2014.

Cheah Kok Hoong, Group CEO and Director of Hitachi Sunway shares that the company is on an aggressive growth plan, as part of a strategic move to accelerate the company’s market position in this highly potential sector of IT provisioning and solutioning.

“IMS is a high growth sector within ICT that encompasses many elements of specific technical resources, know-how and facilities. The recent acquisitions reinforce Hitachi Sunway’s corporate direction to be the top leading one-stop IT services and solutions provider in SEA in this area.”

“I-Net has deep domain expertise in IT system integration, networking and security which will augment Hitachi Sunway’s IMS solutions portfolio to offer complete data center services, IT outsourcing and infrastructure managed services for large IT infrastructure developments and call center operations.”

Cheah adds that the acquisition of I-Net is also timely in response to the recent growing demands for IT infrastructure building within SEA emerging markets. “Coupled with I-Net’s existing regional presence, Hitachi Sunway can comprehensively support the multinationals and enterprise grade customers’ regional business expansions, operations and IT needs via IT support partnerships.”

Established in Singapore since 2003, I-Net is a regional IT company in business of providing IT systems integration services, networking and managed services solutions. The company also has presence in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and China.

The I-Net acquisition will expand Hitachi Sunway’s business footprint and IT offerings in Singapore. Cheah shares, “Prior to the acquisition, Hitachi Sunway has only been providing product lifecycle management solutions to customers in Singapore for engineering design and product manufacturing.

“Tapping on I-Net’s system integration capabilities, Hitachi Sunway can now offer IMS and data center solutions targeting financial services, large conglomerates and government-linked companies,” ends Cheah.

I-Net Solutions (S) Pte. Ltd will soon to be consolidated as subsidiary of Hitachi Sunway and renamed as “Hitachi Sunway Network Solution Pte. Ltd.” (Pending authorities’ approval).

Hitachi Sunway expects to surpass its previous targeted business revenue of RM 137 million (JPY 4billion) by 75 percent to RM 240 million (JPY 7billion) by fiscal 2015.
