Acer Unveils a Comprehensive Range of Technology Devices at Computex 2012

Acer launched a comprehensive slew of exciting new gadgets and devices at the recent global computing fair in Taipei, Computex 2012. Computex 2012 was a landmark occasion for Acer, who launched their new brand spirit, ‘Explore Beyond Limits’.

Acer’s new brand philosophy is reflective of its renewed direction to deliver progressive and innovative devices sporting the latest in technology, fused in such a way that is accessible and extremely user-based. Technology users today are a new breed who are constantly pushing the boundaries in creating and enjoying content – or referred to as ‘Modern Day Explorers’. As a global leader in technology computing, Acer is taking the step to build the best tools to empower them in their quests.

The new line-up announced by Acer at the Computex 2012 is a result of this new direction – two new ICONIA W Series tablets, two Aspire U Series All-in-One (AIO) desktops and a new Aspire S Series Ultrabook. These devices are carefully designed and engineered to provide an enhanced and satisfying computing experience. These new models will address key consumer demands by focusing on ergonomics and style. All Acer’s new gadgets will run on the highly-anticipated Windows 8, which is the most creative, beautiful and intuitive operating system by Microsoft to date.

3 different modes of touchscreen operation
The W510 is built for the daily use of modern day explorers who are looking for freedom of usage for slate, keyboard and hands-free touch. Sporting a 10.1-inch touchscreen, its built-in tri-mode allows users to touch, type and view with ease. Users can opt to use it in productivity mode aside from the conventional tablet mode. Optimal typing is achieved via a detachable keyboard dock, while rotating the tablet 295 degrees switches on presentation mode for video watching, webpage browsing or PowerPoint presentation viewing. Connectivity is also reliable with ‘Always On, Always Connect’ technology.

Best performing Windows 8 tablet with the versatility of a cradle
The W700 comes with an 11.6-inch full HD touchscreen as well as a Dolby® Home Theatre® sound system for audio pleasure. High usage explorers will be happy to know that it comes with three USB 3.0 ports for expansion. Viewing is a pleasure, where at portrait mode, a 70 degrees tilt allows better viewing, while 20 degrees allows convenient touch. Its vertical layout makes for easy browsing and reading.

ASPIRE 7600U (27-inch)
Allows multiple users
The cutting-edge Aspire 7600U supports up to 64-point simultaneous touch from all angles, allowing multiple users at the same time. The ultra-thin touchscreen desktop is striking to look at. Only 35mm thin, it delivers full HD visuals and Dolby® Home Theatre® surround sound.

ASPIRE 5600U (23-inch)
The thinnest AIO to date
This elegant AIO is stylish and elegant, whether on a desk or wall mounted. Featuring ergonomic touch design, a 30 to 85 degrees tilt can enhance single-user comfort. This desktop also fleshes out full HD visuals and Dolby® Home Theatre® surround sound with powerful graphics and responsiveness – making an altogether personalised multimedia experience.

ASPIRE S7 ULTRABOOK
A sleek aluminium unibody design
The full HD touch Ultrabook™ features tempered glass, providing a luxurious experience at work and play for modern day explorers. Available in two sizes, 13.3 inch and 11.6 inch, these currently the thinnest and smallest Ultrabooks offer a superior long battery life to ensure a full day of usage for with a single charge. Acer S7 series also features a light-sensing keyboard which detects changes in lighting conditions and adjusts the keyboard backlight brightness automatically.

All products are currently showcased at Acer’s booth at Computex Taipei 2012, which runs from June 5 to June 9 2012. Products are not yet available in Malaysia at time of press.

Acer’s product once again received global recognition for its outstanding design. Acer S235HL LCD monitor won the Design & Innovation Award this year at Computex Taipei.

The S235HL LCD monitor features full HD resolution and a contrast ratio up to 100 million: 1, ensuring a crystal-clear viewing experience. This monitor also incorporates mercury-free LED technology for up to 68% eco-friendly power conservation. The model has a depth of less than 1 inch and is designed with a minimalist and modern look encased in a glossy black bezel with a sleek asymmetrical design. All input/output ports are located on the base, further enhancing the clean and simple appearance.
